Chloe remembers how Stefan turned cold toward her and ignored four-year-old Lily. Stefan paraded Elena in front of high society as his wife, leaving Chloe and Lily hidden away. Chloe considered getting a divorce, but Lily kept trying to win her father's love. Margaret convinced Chloe to remain for Lily's safety. In her bedroom, Chloe cries over an old silver badge from Stefan until someone kicks her door open.
Chloe looks back on her life at the Wexley estate. Stefan has lost all gentleness toward her over the years. He completely ignores their four-year-old daughter, Lily, offering no warmth or attention to the young child.
Stefan brings Elena to social gatherings, openly presenting her to elite society as Mrs. Stefan Wexley. Meanwhile, Chloe and young Lily are forced to remain out of sight, staying confined to dark hallway corners at the manor.
Inside an estate chamber, Chloe thinks about filing for divorce to escape her situation. She stops when she watches Lily constantly trying to please Stefan, hoping for even a brief moment of affection from her distant father.
Chloe speaks with Margaret and asks for permission to leave the estate with Lily. Margaret urges her to stay put. She warns that half-blood children cannot survive outside and asks Chloe to give Stefan another chance.
Sitting in her bedroom, Chloe holds an old silver badge that Stefan gave her when she was ten years old. She cries over her shattered hopes. Suddenly, an unknown visitor violently kicks her bedroom door open.
“Chloe, Half-Blood children can't survive out there. And Stefan just hasn't figured out his feelings yet. For my sake, can you give him one more chance?”
Chloe sits alone in her bedroom, holding the silver badge Stefan gave her in childhood. She weeps over years of neglect and lost hope. Without warning, someone violently kicks open her door. Who has burst into Chloe's room so aggressively, and what will happen next between them?
