Episode 2 · Gwen, Joey, Mary
Gwen reopens her eyes on the glass walkway right as it fractures. Rory dangles over the drop, screaming for Joey. Joey charges forward to pull her back. Gwen touches his backpack strap, drops her grip, and steps backward. Joey catches Rory by the wrist. The railing snaps from their weight, dropping them into the abyss. Gwen drops to her knees and feigns terror.
Gwen opens her eyes right as the glass walkway cracks open beneath them. Nearby, Rory slips over the canyon edge and hangs on. Rory screams for Joey to save her as the gap widens.
Joey sprints past to rescue Rory. Gwen reaches out and touches the strap on his backpack. Instead of pulling him backward, she deliberately removes her hand, steps away, and shouts out a fake warning to him.
Joey makes it to the broken section and grips Rory by the wrist to pull her up. Behind them on the solid glass, Gwen crosses her arms and watches without moving a muscle to assist either of them.
The railing base breaks under Joey and Rory. Joey twists around, staring back at Gwen with shock and absolute terror. The structure gives way completely, sending Joey and Rory falling off the mountain together.
Surrounding tourists scream and scramble to shout for rescue workers. Gwen drops to her knees on the glass walkway to appear faint from fright. Her hands stay steady as she gazes down into the deep drop.
“Joey, help me!”
“Joey, it's dangerous! Don't go over there!”
“Rory, grab me!”
“Joey, in our last life you said I destroyed your great love. This time, I'm giving you back your chance. I hope you hold on tight.”
Joey and Rory plunge into the empty canyon air as the railing gives way. On the walkway above, Gwen sits amid the panicked crowd, keeping up her act of helpless terror. Will either Joey or Rory survive the fall down the mountain cliffs, and how will Gwen handle the emergency responders when help arrives?
