Gwen remembers her previous life, where she saved Joey during a skywalk collapse that left Rory paralyzed. Blamed for the accident, Gwen was locked in a freezer and died. She wakes up reborn right as the bridge begins to crack. Instead of pulling Joey to safety, she lets go of his bag. A flashback details how Rory fell, how Mary and Dale abused Gwen, and how Joey pushed her into a freezer to freeze.
Gwen remembers dying inside a locked freezer. In her earlier life, Rory fell through a broken glass bridge. Gwen pulled Joey to safety when he tried to reach Rory. Joey blamed Gwen for Rory's paralysis and froze Gwen to death.
Gwen wakes up standing on the glass skywalk right as the disaster strikes. Joey rushes forward to catch Rory. Gwen makes a different choice this time. She releases Joey's pack instead of pulling him out of danger.
A tour guide calls out a warning to the crowd. The glass panel cracks beneath Rory's feet and breaks. Joey leaps forward to grab Rory's hand. Gwen catches Joey and pulls him backward right before the frame gives way.
Rory remains in a vegetative state at the hospital. Joey blames Gwen for the tragedy. Mary slaps Gwen across the face. Dale orders Gwen to kneel in the hallway, and Joey locks her outside on a freezing balcony.
Joey drags Gwen to a restaurant walk-in freezer set to minus twenty degrees. He shoves her inside and bolts the door. Gwen pounds against the door until she collapses onto the icy floor while Joey ignores her cries.
“This time, I let go.”
“If you hadn't stopped me, I could have saved her!”
“Gwen, you left Rory bedridden for life. Now it's your turn to know what it's like to be unable to move.”
“Only when she's dead will everything be clean.”
The past flashback ends with Gwen freezing to death on the floor while Joey insists that only her death will settle things. In the present, Gwen releases Joey's backpack as the glass shatters. Will Joey plunge off the broken bridge alongside Rory, or can he save himself from the drop?
