Episode 5 recap

A dark cloud hovers over Vanessa, making her high heels slip so she falls onto the marble floor. Marcus lunges to strike Evie, but Alexander grabs his wrist and orders the pair to leave the mansion. Marcus warns Alexander that his son will die soon, then escorts Vanessa away. Evie thanks Alexander and tells him her name, age, and forest origins. Overcome by magical exhaustion, Evie collapses into Alexander's arms, and he calls for Dr. Harris.

00:00: Vanessa Slips on the Floor
The dark cloud gathers directly above Vanessa in the mansion grand hall. Her high heels lose traction on the slick surface. She loses her balance and crashes hard onto the polished marble floor while the others watch.
00:06: Alexander Defends Evie
Marcus reacts with anger after the fall and lunges toward Evie to strike her. Alexander steps in immediately and catches Marcus by the wrist. He tightens his grip, stops the blow, and commands both relatives to leave his house right away.
00:16: Marcus Gives a Warning
Marcus rubs his bruised wrist in the grand hall. He glares at Alexander and warns him that his son does not have long to live. Marcus then turns to help the injured Vanessa stand up and exit the building.
00:30: Evie Introduces Herself
Evie speaks to Alexander and thanks him for stepping in to defend her. Alexander speaks gently to the little girl. He asks her to tell him her name, how old she is, and where she lived before arriving at the estate.
00:51: Evie Faints in Alexander's Arms
Using her magic drains Evie's strength completely. She loses consciousness and collapses into Alexander's arms in the grand hall. Alexander catches her securely and shouts across the room for the butler to summon Dr. Harris immediately.
