Episode 4 · Emilia, Alexander, Mia
Emilia feels sick and rushes into the washroom to vomit. Eleanor pats her back and leaves to fetch some medicine. Outside the door, Alexander grabs Emilia's wrist and says she is two months pregnant. Emilia breaks away and tells him to focus on his wife Mia. Emilia remembers Alexander ignoring her for Mia after Mia's adoption. In the present, Emilia wipes her tears and confronts him directly.
Emilia feels sudden nausea and dashes into the bathroom to vomit heavily. Her mother Eleanor rushes inside right behind her. Eleanor pats Emilia on the back, asks about her health, and steps away to find some medicine for her.
Alexander steps in front of Emilia at the washroom door and grips her wrist firmly. He tells her she is pregnant after missing two cycles. Emilia pulls her arm free and reminds him that Mia is his wife now.
Emilia thinks back to their childhood years. Alexander used to treat Emilia with constant care and attention. Everything changed once Eleanor adopted Mia. Alexander shifted all his focus and favoritism onto the newly adopted girl instead of Emilia.
The scene shifts back to the hallway outside the bathroom. Emilia wipes away her tears in front of Alexander. She asks him why he used her as a stepping stone for his relationship with Mia.
“You're pregnant.”
“You haven't had your period in two months.”
“It's none of your business. You're Mia's husband, she's the one you should be worrying about.”
Emilia wipes her tears while standing face to face with Alexander in the hallway. She directly demands to know why he treated her like a stepping stone for his romance with Mia. Will Alexander admit his real motives to Emilia, or will Eleanor return with the medicine and interrupt their tense confrontation?
