Eleanor hosts Memorial Day brunch and asks Alexander to recommend suitors for Amelia and Mia. Alexander shocks the room by taking Mia's hand and displaying their fresh marriage certificate. Out on the terrace, he confesses to Amelia that he tricked her into signing divorce papers. A weeping Amelia agrees to relocate to France with Eleanor, before Mia sends taunting messages about Alexander.
Eleanor suggests that Alexander introduce suitors for Amelia and Mia during Memorial Day brunch. Alexander takes Mia by the hand instead. He pulls out a legal marriage certificate and announces that he and Mia tied the knot earlier that day.
Alexander smokes a cigarette outside on the terrace with Amelia. He admits the document she signed at court was actually divorce papers. He claims he married Mia simply to protect her from Eleanor marrying her off to an older man.
Amelia breaks down in tears inside the family estate. She tells Eleanor she wants to relocate together to Provence in France. Eleanor hugs and consoles her weeping daughter, completely unaware that Amelia was secretly married to Alexander for five years.
Alone in her bedroom, Amelia checks her phone and sees taunting messages from Mia. Mia sends photos documenting dates with Alexander over the past two years, along with a group picture, and questions why Alexander married Amelia five years ago.
“Eleanor me and i got married today.”
“Last week when I took you to court, you signed divorce papers.”
“Don't you want to know why Alexander was so determined to marry you five years ago?”
Amelia stares at her phone in her bedroom. Mia has just sent her photos of two years of dates with Alexander, plus a picture with a man. Mia asks why Alexander was so set on marrying Amelia five years ago. What dark secret behind Amelia's marriage is Mia about to expose?
