Mateo charges into the courtyard of his family home to defend his parents, Ernesto and Rosa. He grabs a baseball bat, knocks down the Street Lords thugs, and disarms a gunman before chasing the crew away. Ernesto urges Mateo to pack their bags immediately. Soon, gang leader Braulio arrives with backup. Mateo strikes Braulio, but the thugs draw their pistols on him. Suddenly, Ramón fires a gunshot and orders everyone to stand down.

00:00: Mateo Defends His Parents
Mateo charges into his parents' courtyard and grabs a baseball bat. He strikes down the Street Lords thugs who are threatening Ernesto and Rosa. He stands directly between his parents and the intruders.
00:24: Disarming the Street Lords Thug
A thug in a black hoodie pulls out a gun. Mateo reacts instantly, wrenches the firearm away, and empties out the bullets. He issues a direct threat to the thug, forcing the remaining gang members to flee the courtyard.
00:50: A Tearful Family Reunion
Mateo embraces Rosa and Ernesto in tears after years away from home. Ernesto warns that the Street Lords will come back for revenge. He tells Mateo to stop arguing and pack up their things so they can flee tonight.
01:07: Braulio Arrives with Gang Reinforcements
Braulio, the boss of the Tepito district, enters the courtyard with more men. Mateo uses the baseball bat to disarm Braulio and knock him down. Braulio's crew members immediately pull out handguns and aim them straight at Mateo.
01:33: Ramón Fires a Warning Shot
A sudden gunshot rings out from the courtyard doorway. Ramón, captain of the Montemayor family guard, steps into view holding a smoking weapon. He points his gun forward and commands every gang member to drop their weapons right now.
