Joey enters the breakroom and rebukes Rory for arriving without warning. Phoebe acts terrified of Rory, so Joey defends the intern. Rory questions Joey about yesterday's meal. Joey claims he drank pork rib soup, but Rory reveals she prepared crucian carp soup instead. Phoebe cries and complains of stomach pain. Joey escorts Phoebe to the infirmary despite Gwen's protests. Rory takes her thermos, declares she will bring him nothing else, and walks away.

    Joey enters the office breakroom and scolds Rory for dropping by without an invitation. Phoebe acts frightened and claims Rory intimidated her. Hearing this, Joey steps between them and sides with Phoebe against his pregnant wife.

    Rory confronts Joey directly and asks what soup he had yesterday. Joey promptly answers that he ate pork rib soup. Rory informs him that she actually cooked crucian carp soup, catching him in a direct falsehood.
