Episode 2 · Rory, Joey, Phoebe
Rory checks Joey's phone in the bedroom. She discovers messages between him and a young woman, along with pictures of the woman holding her thermos. Joey steps out of the shower and hugs Rory, offering to buy her sour plums tomorrow, but Rory turns him down. In bed, Joey secretly texts the woman back and assures her that Rory will definitely deliver soup again. Rory lies behind him and quietly cries.
Rory sits in the bedroom and searches through Joey's phone. She reads caring messages sent to a younger woman. In the photo gallery, Rory sees snapshots of this woman holding Rory's personal thermos.
Joey finishes his shower and wraps his arms around Rory from behind. He speaks gently and offers to pick up sour plums for her the next day. Rory pulls back and dismisses his suggestion with a cold refusal.
Joey lies in bed with his back turned to Rory. He thinks she is asleep and checks a new message. The woman asks about tomorrow's soup. Joey promises that Rory will bring it, while Rory silently weeps beside him.
“Sweetheart, why aren't you asleep yet?”
“Are you craving sour plums again? I'll pick some up for you tomorrow.”
“Don't bother buying any tomorrow.”
Joey sends a confident reply to the woman, insisting his wife will never let him go hungry. Rory keeps her eyes shut and weeps into her pillow in the dark. Will Rory confront Joey directly about the texts and her thermos, or will she quietly gather more facts about his intern?
