Julian brings Avery into his studio behind the school theater and makes her try on a black sample dress. Inside the changing room, Julian briefly opens the door before she steps out. The fitted dress matches her body exactly. Julian explains that the gown was made using AVA's exact proportions. Avery stumbles in high heels on purpose. Julian then produces a black veil, but a staff member interrupts them.
Julian Hayes leads Avery into his temporary studio behind the school theater. He hands her a black sample dress and insists she try it on. He claims he needs to verify her dress size before their upcoming date.
Avery steps into the dressing room and removes her oversized hoodie. Julian opens the door unexpectedly, then quickly apologizes and backs away. Avery finishes changing and steps out onto the studio floor in the fitted black gown.
Julian inspects how the dress fits Avery. He informs her that the sample piece was tailored specifically to AVA's body measurements. He directly lists their identical height, shoulder width, waist, and hips to challenge her claims of being ordinary.
Julian hands Avery a pair of black high heels to wear. Avery puts them on and deliberately stumbles across the floor. She acts like she cannot walk in heels so Julian will stop suspecting she is AVA.
Julian pulls out a black lace veil and orders Avery to put it on. Avery refuses and states that she dislikes veils. Julian confronts her hesitation, but a female school staff member suddenly interrupts them from the doorway.
“The sample was made using AVA's measurements.”
“Same height, same shoulder width, same waist, same hips. That is a lot of coincidence.”
“Put this on.”
“I do not like veils.”
A female staff member enters the studio to call Julian to the principal's office. This sudden disruption gives Avery an opening to grab her everyday clothes and escape from the room. Will Julian return from the office and continue pressuring Avery until she puts on the black veil?
