Adrian holds baby Milo while Nora packs her bag. Nora tells Owen to eat and drink from the fridge, promising to bring donuts back. As she exits, Nora flips the main breaker switch, plunging the apartment into complete darkness. Owen calls her in fear. Adrian claims Owen is manipulating her. Nora orders Owen to stay quiet, threatens to leave him forever, and forbids him from opening the door. Alone in the dark, Owen dials her again.

Episode 2 scene by scene

00:00: Packing for the Trip
Adrian holds one-year-old Milo near the doorway and tells Nora their car is arriving soon. Nora finishes packing her bag. She crouches down by Owen on the floor, reminds him to take food from the fridge, and promises donuts.
00:26: Cutting the Power
Nora walks toward the front exit with her bags. Right before stepping outside, she reaches up and flips off the main electrical breaker by the door. The lights and the television immediately go completely black across the entire apartment.
00:34: Phone Call in the Dark
Owen sits in the dark and phones Nora to say the lights will not turn on. Adrian tells Nora that Owen is only making excuses to keep her home. Nora tells Owen over the phone to stop causing trouble.
00:53: A Threat at the Car
Owen asks Nora when she is coming back. Nora loses patience and warns that she will leave him for real if he keeps talking. Owen drops his crayon in fright. Nora tells him to stay inside because the outside is unsafe.
01:27: Waiting by the Front Door
Owen promises to wait quietly indoors. Nora enters the waiting car. Owen slides down to sit against the closed front door in total silence. After a while, he dials Nora again. She picks up with obvious annoyance in her voice.

How episode 2 ends

Owen sits alone in the pitch-black hallway with his back pressed against the locked door. Desperate for help, he dials Nora a second time. Nora answers the phone with sharp irritation and demands to know what he wants now. Will Nora hang up on Owen, or will she finally turn around to help him?
