An explosion hits a military convoy in the desert. Nora pulls Adrian Hawthorne out first, while Owen stays pinned under an armored truck until rescuers arrive. The injury reduces Owen's mental age to three years old. Later, Nora gives birth and embraces Adrian. Adrian suggests a mountain camping trip for the three of them. Nora agrees, leaves simple drawings for Owen on the floor, and walks out the door.

Nora texts Adrian Hawthorne behind Owen's back. Owen sees her phone message about staying together forever if he never remembers. Later, Nora gives birth to a baby. She hugs Adrian Hawthorne in celebration while Owen stands pushed aside alone.

Adrian Hawthorne holds the toddler and suggests a mountain trip for the three of them. Nora agrees and drops simple drawings about water and the fridge for Owen. She shuts the door, while Owen notes she will never see him again.
