Episode 6 · Elaine Reed, Lord Carl Moretto, Gia Moretto
In the manor hallway, Gia halts a courier carrying a tailor's parcel. She spots an elegant gold gown inside and decides her uncle bought it for her. Instead, servants take the dress directly to Carl and Elaine. Carl demands Elaine acknowledge herself as a lady. Elaine then retreats to get dressed, where Carl joins her uninvited and ties her corset from behind.
Gia stops a courier maid in the hallway and opens a tailor's box. Seeing a gown embroidered with gold threads, she assumes Carl bought it for her banquet entrance. She orders the servant to treat the package gently.
A maid brings the gold dress to Carl and Elaine, addressing Elaine as a lady. Elaine tries to decline the noble address. Carl lifts her chin, orders her to accept the status, and tells her to put on the dress quickly.
Elaine looks in the mirror and calls for help when she cannot lace her gown. Carl enters the room, pulls the back cords tight, places a kiss on her neck, and holds her around the waist before the glass.
“This must be for me to wear to the banquet. So Uncle still dotes on me after all.”
“If I say you are, you are. Go on. Don't keep me waiting too long.”
“My lord, how did you get in here?”
“You were taking too long, so I had to come help you myself.”
Carl finishes tying the back of Elaine's dress, kisses her neck, and embraces her waist before the mirror. Elaine gasps at his sudden intimacy. How will Gia react when she sees Elaine arrive at the banquet wearing the exact gold gown she thought was made for her?
