The tavern keeper demands that Elaine Reed serve a male customer and lift her skirt for money. Nauseated, Elaine refuses and tries to leave, revealing she is pregnant. The keeper grabs her and tears open her dress. Lord Carl Moretto arrives with an armored soldier, knocking the keeper down. After the keeper realizes who Carl is, Carl covers Elaine with his dark cloak and asks her if she is pregnant.
