Jax brings an injured Ryan to his penthouse and places him on the couch. Ryan insists he is straight, but Jax's inner wolf urges an immediate union. Jax holds back the beast and tells Ryan to wash up. Ryan takes a shower and resolves to spend the night to avoid Maurice's wrath. When Ryan investigates painful groans in the dark study, Jax grabs him.
Jax lays the injured Ryan onto the couch. Ryan defensively claims he is straight. Jax's inner wolf manifests and demands to mate with Ryan immediately. Jax forces the wolf down and directs Ryan to go take a shower.
Jax struggles alone against his inner wolf's urge to claim a mate. In the bathroom, Ryan washes up. He decides to stay the night in Jax's penthouse so he can avoid his father Maurice punishing him over Damian.
Wearing only a towel, Ryan follows painful groans to the study. He discovers Jax seated in the dark with sweat on his skin and an unbuckled belt. Ryan attempts to retreat. Jax seizes his wrist and lifts his chin.
“I'm straight, not gay. And even if I were, I'd be the one on top.”
“I want a mate now. Right now.”
“You think you can walk out of this?”
“Lick.”
Jax traps Ryan in the dark study. He grabs Ryan's wrist, takes hold of his chin, and presses a finger directly against Ryan's lower lip. Jax orders Ryan to lick his finger. Will Ryan submit to the Alpha King's overwhelming command, or will he find a way to break free from Jax's grip?
