Kellan returns to the bedroom late at night and tries to hold Fallon in bed. Fallon grabs his wrist and rejects him after smelling Briar's rose perfume on his skin. Kellan asks if he woke her, admitting he spent time with his late brother's mate. He promises to make amends later and says Briar will understand. Kellan then walks out, leaving Fallon crying alone as she remembers pack members calling her a homewrecker.

    Fallon catches the scent of roses lingering on Kellan's chest, recognizing it as the scent of Briar, his deceased brother's mate. Kellan does not step back. Instead, he speaks gently and asks Fallon if he woke her up.

    Fallon remembers staying awake all night while envisioning Kellan passionately kissing Briar. Kellan apologizes for spending so much time with Briar lately. He promises to make it up to Fallon soon, claiming Briar will understand his time away.
