Episode 5 · 35 episodes · Ella, Kane, Naira
A grieving Catfolk man confronts Ella in her hospital room, shouting that she started the grassland fire to get Kane's attention. He hits her head with an IV stand before guards seize him. Ella leaves her room despite her wounds to trail Kane down the corridor. She looks into Naira's room. There, Kane cradles Naira's hands as Naira suggests Ella lit the fire over the baby.
A Catfolk man blames Ella for the deadly grassland fire and strikes her across the head with a metal IV pole. Ella insists she only tried to help, but guards must rush in to pull the man away.
Hostile Catfolk onlookers gather by the open door, yelling that Ella deserves the pain and belongs in hell. While the crowd hurls insults, Ella catches sight of Kane walking past in the hallway.
Ella falls straight to the floor as blood soaks through the bandages on her arm. She forces herself back to her feet and limps through the corridor to keep Kane in her sight.
Looking through a gap in the doorway, Ella spots Kane holding Naira's hands at her bedside. A weeping Naira asks Kane whether Ella started the wildfire because she discovered Naira's pregnancy.
“Blood for blood! You're going to pay for Tessa! They couldn't even find all of her body.”
“I didn't set the fire. I was trying to save them!”
“What if... what if Ella found out about the baby. What if she set that fire because of us?”
Outside the doorway, Ella presses her hand over her mouth in complete horror. She hears Naira plant the suspicion that jealousy over the unborn child drove her to start the blaze. Will Kane accept Naira's accusation against his own wife, and how will Ella survive the blame for the settlement fire?
