Ella
Silver Wolf Soldier and Kane's Wife
Ella spent seven years supporting Kane, sacrificing promotions and family connections to aid his work in the Catfolk settlement. After overhearing Naira claim Kane fathered her child, Ella signs military discharge papers and files for divorce. Despite putting out a wildfire, she faces false murder charges from villagers and brutality from the husband she protected.
Kane
Northern Guard Commander
Kane commands the Northern Guard but displays terrible judgment in his personal life. He blinds himself to Ella's injuries, repeatedly prioritizing Naira. When catastrophe strikes, he rescues Naira and leaves Ella in the flames. Kane uses his authority to bully Ella, dragging her from a hospital bed and demanding she confess to crimes she did not commit.
Naira
Catfolk Conspirators' Ally
Naira poses as a vulnerable Catfolk woman who needs constant protection. She uses a fake pregnancy and staged fainting spells to divide Kane from his wife. When settlement fires cause local deaths, Naira frames Ella as an arsonist driven by jealousy. Her innocent exterior conceals cruel motives, and her brother Riven runs a border smuggling ring.
Story so far
Seven years of loyalty can vanish in an instant when power and deceit take over. In the short drama My Commander Husband Chose a Cat Girl Over Me, Ella gives up family ties, career advancements, and her own peace to stand by Kane, the commander of the Northern Guard. She learns the Catfolk language simply to share his world. That hard-earned knowledge delivers a brutal shock when she overhears Naira, a young Catfolk woman, whispering to Kane at a settlement bonfire that she carries his child. Instead of defending his marriage, Kane sidelines Ella, leaving her to face danger alone while he caters to Naira's every whim.
The drama moves past simple jealousy into dangerous territory. When a wildfire sweeps through the Catfolk grasslands, Ella rushes into the inferno with a shovel and water to fight the flames. Kane arrives only to carry Naira away, leaving his wife to burn. Ella wakes up in a hospital, battered and bleeding, only to face an angry mob of Catfolk villagers who accuse her of murdering their kin. Kane accepts Naira's tearful manipulation without demanding evidence, dragging an injured Ella before the public to force a confession.
This character breakdown examines the forces driving each figure in the conflict. Naira weaponizes fragility to seize control, while Kane hides his guilt behind military authority and cruel punishment. Ella strips away her illusions, submits her discharge papers, and demands the truth.
