Episode 1 · Stella, Mark, Dane
At a BBQ restaurant, Brianna shoves Stella to the floor to sit beside Mark. Mark makes excuses for Brianna's behavior. A male friend offers his seat, but Stella sits next to Mark's roommate Dane instead. Mark feeds peeled crawfish directly to Brianna. Stella places food on Dane's plate before he walks off. Stella heads to the restroom and overhears Dane through the wall confessing that he wants her.
Brianna pushes Stella onto the floor to grab the chair beside Mark. She leans over him, and Mark makes excuses for her behavior. A male friend steps in and offers his own seat at the table to Stella.
Stella declines the friend's offer and takes the chair next to Dane. Her hair brushes against Dane's knuckles, causing his hand to shake and clench. Mark calls Stella independent, but Brianna mocks her, claiming only unloved girls need independence.
Mark feeds peeled crawfish straight to Brianna. Stella notices Dane has not touched any food. She places skewers directly onto his plate. Dane eats them with intense focus, stands up from his seat, and walks away from the table.
Stella stays at the table and watches Mark and Brianna flirt closely with each other. Feeling disgusted by their behavior, Stella stands up from her seat and walks toward the restaurant restroom to step away from them.
Stella washes her hands at the sink. Through the men's room wall, she hears Dane speaking in a strained tone. Dane admits that he loses control whenever Stella is near and states that he wants to take her for himself.
“Stella, please understand. This idiot can barely take care of herself.”
“Only girls nobody loves have to be independent. My parents spoiled me growing up, and now you spoil me too. I'll never be independent.”
“Aren't you going to eat? It's actually pretty good.”
“Every time she gets close, I get all messed up. I can't control myself. Yeah. I want to take her for myself. That loser doesn't deserve her.”
Stella stands frozen by the sinks after washing her hands, listening to Dane speak through the restroom wall. Dane declares that Mark does not deserve Stella and that he wants her for himself. How will Stella react to Dane and Mark once she steps back out into the dining room?
