When a heavy punching bag snaps free, Tessa catches it barehanded. The man picks up her student ID and introduces himself as Julian's older brother, Kieran.

Tessa packs her luggage in her bedroom. The Ashford housekeeper hands her a silver pillbox with Julian's heart medication. She explains that Julian gets attacks from strong emotions and started getting worse after he split up with Serena.
00:30: Arrival on Campus
Tessa walks onto the university campus for her first day of classes. Groups of students stop to stare at her. They whisper among themselves about how she replaced Serena as Julian Ashford's new fiancée. Tessa walks past them quietly.
01:05: Uniform Pickup at the Store
Tessa goes to the campus store to collect her clothes. The store clerk loudly announces that her uniform size is 4XL. Nearby students laugh at the remark. Tessa ignores the insults, takes the clothing, and changes into the uniform.
01:25: Shelter in the Boxing Gym
Heavy rain starts falling across the campus grounds. Tessa runs inside a boxing gym to escape the storm. Inside the facility, she spots a muscular young man working out alone, striking a heavy punching bag in the empty room.
02:12: A Snapping Chain
The young man stops his workout and tells Tessa that the gym is closed to the public. Tessa turns around to leave. At that exact second, the metal chain holding the two-hundred-pound punching bag snaps directly toward him.
02:44: Tessa Catches the Heavy Bag
Tessa sprints forward and grabs the falling bag barehanded inches from the man's head. A memory of an icy lake flashes in her mind. She pushes the heavy bag back up and hooks it onto the rack by herself.
03:15: Kieran Ashford Introduces Himself
Tessa drops her student ID card on the gym floor during the commotion. The man picks it up, reads her name, and steps close to her. He announces that he is Julian's older brother, Kieran Ashford.
