Episode 1 · Elena, Vincent Blackwood, Marcus
Elena enters a crypt and kisses the sleeping Vincent Blackwood in his coffin. He awakens and marks her neck with a glowing blood branch. He reveals that she has both hunter and vampire blood. A female attendant greets Elena before a gargoyle monster attacks. Vincent instantly slays the creature. He warns Elena that enemies want her blood. Doors blow open, and Marcus arrives to confront Vincent.
Elena leans over an open coffin in an ancient crypt and kisses the sleeping Vincent Blackwood. Vincent wakes up after five centuries of rest. He pulls Elena close against him and brands her neck with a glowing blood branch.
Elena pulls back in shock and questions Vincent about who he is. Vincent identifies himself as a vampire. He states that Elena is not human either, while both of their chests begin to pulse with a bright, matching light.
In the castle courtyard, a female attendant greets Elena as her queen. Suddenly, a gargoyle-like monster leaps out to steal Elena's blood for its master. Vincent rushes across the yard and destroys the attacking creature on the spot.
Vincent tells Elena that their blood contract is now active. He explains that hostile forces will target her because she carries both holy hunter blood and dark vampire blood. He makes it clear she cannot escape the danger ahead.
A blast of force blows open the heavy castle doors. Marcus, a red-haired vampire, strides into the room through thick smoke. He stares directly at Vincent, his cousin, and demands a share of the young woman.
“I don't know you, but I had to come.”
“From now on you are mine.”
“Because inside you flows both Hunter's holy blood and Vampire's dark blood.”
“Cousin, you've been hiding her for so long. Time to share.”
The episode ends as the castle entrance blasts open and Marcus walks in through the smoke. He calls Vincent his cousin and insists on taking a share of Elena. Will Vincent fight off his kin to defend Elena, and what does Marcus really want with her dual blood?
