Episode 3 · Mia, Prince Orion, Elowen
Mia visits Elowen at the barred dungeon window and cries because Prince Orion called her a liar. Elowen orders Mia never to speak her name to Orion. A guard shouts, and Elowen tells Mia to stay alive. In a flashback, Valera chains Elowen and threatens to murder Orion. To keep him alive, Elowen smashes a cake Orion baked for her at a banquet and pushes him away.
Mia slips outside the dungeon and finds her mother behind iron bars. She weeps as she explains her meeting with Prince Orion. She tells Elowen that her father refused to believe her words and called her a liar.
Elowen tells Mia that Orion hates her because of a past betrayal. She forbids Mia from ever uttering her name to him. A dungeon guard shouts nearby, forcing Elowen to order Mia to run and stay alive.
A flashback depicts Elowen locked in heavy chains. Her aunt Valera stands over her alongside her cousin. Valera delivers a deadly ultimatum: Elowen must obey her family and abandon Orion, or Valera will execute him.
Young Orion presents a homemade cake to Elowen with a smile at a banquet. Elowen knocks the food to the floor and delivers cold insults. Orion is crushed by her harsh rejection and promises never to forgive her.
“Never say my name in front of him. Hearing my name makes him sick.”
“Do as you're told, or I kill Orion.”
“You betrayed me, Elowen. I will never forgive you.”
“Hate me, Orion. It's the only way you stay alive.”
The flashback ends with Orion swearing eternal hatred as Elowen walks away in tears, quietly bearing the pain to protect his life. Will Prince Orion ever discover that Elowen broke his heart solely to prevent her aunt Valera from murdering him, or will his lingering bitterness continue to punish both mother and daughter?
