Lainey moved to New York, married Marcus Falcone, had their son Gable, and became pregnant again. In the present, Lainey attends the Falcone gala. Leo confronts her, but she points to the VIP table. After Leo denies knowing her to associates, Rosalie pushes Lainey down, stomps on her hand, and steals her bracelet.

Lainey remembers standing outside City Hall five years ago. She begged Leo to marry her, but he arrived with a pregnant Rosalie instead. Leo married Rosalie for family connections and left a heartbroken Lainey alone in the pouring rain.

Lainey flees to New York and marries Marcus Falcone. She gives birth to their son, Gable, and becomes pregnant with a second child. Later, she prepares to travel back to Chicago to attend an upcoming family memorial.
01:01: Confrontation in the Ballroom
Lainey walks into the Falcone gala ballroom wearing an evening gown. Leo immediately approaches and accuses her of trying to get his attention. Lainey responds by telling him her actual seat is located at the VIP head table.
01:31: Leo Denies Knowing Lainey
Rosalie confronts Lainey loudly, accusing her of sneaking into the event with a fake Eternal Vow bracelet. When a Chicago mobster asks about her, Leo protects his own standing by claiming he does not know Lainey at all.
02:05: Rosalie Attacks on the Floor
Emboldened by Leo's denial, Rosalie shoves Lainey onto the floor. She presses her stiletto heel directly into Lainey's bleeding hand. Rosalie then violently tears the sapphire bracelet off Lainey's wrist before standing back up.
