A castle maid spots Princess Eliana climbing down high vines and calls the guards. Eliana runs across the garden to escape her royal life. She wants to be with Derek, a war college leader she loves. Uncle Marcus chases her in a carriage and uses a stone to order a lockdown. Carriages trap Eliana at the gates. She tells Marcus to lock her up or let her walk away to Derek.
A maid opens a castle window and spots Eliana Ashwing climbing down vines. Eliana hits the ground and sprints through the courtyard. Guards and servants shout and chase after her as she races toward the outer grounds.
Eliana runs through the garden walkway, explaining that she loves Derek and gives up the throne for him. Uncle Marcus pursues her in a carriage. He speaks into a communication stone and orders guards to block the castle gates.
Black carriages brake hard and surround Eliana at the shut gates. Marcus steps out to confront her. Eliana says she goes by Lia now and chooses Derek. Marcus warns her that Derek does not know her royal identity.
“My name is Eliana Ashwing. Eighteen years old. The only daughter and heir to the late great Dragon King, also known as... the Dragon Princess.”
“I told you, it's Lia. I'm not the Dragon Princess anymore. I'm leaving that all behind. For Derek!”
“He doesn't even know who you really are!”
“If you're not gonna support me, Uncle, then you either have to lock me up or let me go!”
Lia gives Uncle Marcus an ultimatum at the barred castle gates. She tells him to either throw her into a cell or let her walk out to Derek. Marcus looks conflicted, steps closer, and reaches his hand toward her. Will Marcus lock up his niece, or will he let her leave the Ashwing lands?
