Who is who in Never Reject a Dragon Princess, and how they are connected.
Eliana Ashwing (Lia)
Dragon Princess and heir to House Ashwing
Lia is the eighteen-year-old daughter of the late Dragon King Lorian. She fled royal obligations to chase true love with Derek under the guise of an ordinary orphan. Derek's cruel betrayal forces her to cast aside her timid disguise, declare her royal lineage, and accept an explosive mate bond with Cassian.
Derek
Wingleader of Duskrend Flight
Derek is an arrogant climber obsessed with status. He drops Lia the moment he earns his leadership title, choosing Elise for her family connections. Derek believes Lia is merely a penniless commoner. He severes their bond and tries to humiliate her, completely blind to the fact that her family secured his position.
Caz Cassian
Wingleader of Nightfall Flight
Known as The Shadowflame, Cassian arrives at Ashcliff War College aiming to control Nightfall. He initially mistakes Lia for his paid gala partner. When Derek attacks her dignity, Cassian steps between them. Their contract handclasp triggers an undeniable mate bond, revealing his command over thunder and a giant dragon.
Marcus
House Deputy and Lia's uncle
Marcus protects the Ashwing legacy after the Dragon King's death. Though he attempts to stop Lia from running away, he works behind the scenes to legitimize her happiness. He successfully brokers the alliance with Derek's flight so his niece can finally reveal her true station without danger.
Elise
Derek's new partner
Elise is the daughter of a Wingleader and Derek's chosen mate for the Ember Gala. She delights in belittling Lia, dismissing her claims of noble blood as pathetic desperation. Her presence cements Derek's treason against the very princess who elevated him.
Story so far
Never Reject a Dragon Princess builds its tension on a single, disastrous misunderstanding. Eliana Ashwing, the sole heir of the late Dragon King Lorian, wants ordinary love instead of an inherited throne. She hides her royal birth, pretends to be a nameless orphan, and slips out of her family castle to join Derek at Ashcliff War College. Her uncle Marcus secures high-level alliances to protect her, yet Derek sees none of that effort. He judges her solely on the humble persona she adopted to spare his ego.
When you watch Never Reject a Dragon Princess online, the power shifts immediately command attention. Derek gains the status of Wingleader and instantly casts Lia aside for Elise. He assumes an unranked partner hurts his social climbing. His blind ambition makes him trade away the true daughter of House Ashwing for a convenient seat next to another flight leader. The dramatic irony bites hard: Derek believes he has outgrown Lia, completely unaware that his new political standing exists only because her house backed him.
The balance breaks entirely when Caz Cassian steps out of the courtyard shadows. Cassian initially wants a simple hired date for the Ember Gala to handle his own business with Nightfall. Instead, he stumbles into Lia's public split with Derek. Their spontaneous agreement to act as stand-in partners ignites a genuine dragon mate mark on Lia's arm. Derek demands obedience and threatens banishment. Cassian answers with raw power, lightning, and his own rank as Wingleader of the Nightfall Flight.
