Who is who in My Crush’s Ridiculous Bet, and how they are connected.

Maya Bennett
Protagonist / Contract Bride
Maya spent eight years pining for Seth, believing he rescued her from drowning during childhood. Her thirtieth birthday betrays that loyalty. Seth humiliates her in front of a crowd. Instead of weeping, Maya cuts her emotional ties, agrees to a contract marriage with Hayden Hayes, and walks out of City Hall determined to take back her self-respect.
Seth Carter
Antagonist / Childhood Crush
Seth uses Maya’s loyalty to entertain his wealthy social circle. He sets up a City Hall stunt to win cash bets from his friends. When socialite Quinn Whitmore arrives, Seth tries to pawn Maya off on Brad to protect his image. He remains desperate to prove Maya’s marriage is fake, but his arrogance blinds him to his own downfall.
Hayden Hayes
Wealthy Groom / Secret Savior
Hayden carries the other half of Maya’s silver moon pendant. After spotting her on the road, he tracks her to City Hall and intervenes when Brad grabs her. He offers a six-month contract marriage with clear terms. Hayden already knows her scars and defends her against Seth's insults by booking the Plaza Grand ballroom.
Brad
Seth's Accomplice
Brad enables Seth's games by harassing Maya and recording her humiliation for an online livestream. When Seth panics in front of Quinn, he offers Brad as Maya's substitute groom. Hayden’s aide promptly tackles Brad to the steps. Brad continues filming the confrontation outside City Hall until Hayden shuts the spectacle down.

Story so far

Seth Carter thinks cruelty is currency. He invites Maya Bennett to City Hall on her thirtieth birthday under the guise of marriage. Maya spent eight years adoring Seth, believing he was the boy who pulled her from the water years ago. She arrives in a rented wedding dress with her legal documents in hand. Seth stands on the steps, collecting one hundred dollars from each of his laughing friends.

The cruelty is calculated, but Maya does not collapse. When Seth flings a ten-dollar bill in her face to mock her, she collects the cash and promises to count it toward a wedding gift. Her emotional break comes when Quinn Whitmore arrives. Seth shoves Brad forward to claim Brad is Maya's groom, terrified of looking attached to Maya in front of Quinn. That lie shatters Maya's illusions.

Enter Hayden Hayes. He drives by, spots Maya, checks the silver moon pendant in his hand, and tells his driver to turn around. Hayden catches Maya when she stumbles away from Brad. He offers a clean exit: a six-month contract marriage. Inside City Hall, Hayden notices old scars on Maya's fingers and fixes her collar. Seth and Brad pound on the glass with an active phone stream, but Maya signs the papers anyway.

The power balance flips completely once Maya steps out as Hayden’s wife. Seth claims the marriage certificate is a printed prop and demands a reception at the Plaza Grand. Hayden instantly books the top-floor ballroom and invites the entire sidewalk crowd. Memorable lines

“Happy birthday Maya. Be at City Hall by 9. I've got a birthday surprise just for you. Wear that new wedding dress, bring all your documents, and whatever you do, don't be late. I'll see you there.”
Seth Carter

“Thanks. The marriage license cost 35 bucks anyway. So I'll count this 10 toward our wedding gift. I'll give you the change later.”
Maya

“My name's Hayden Hayes. I'm gonna be blunt. My family's been riding my ass to get married. So I need a six month marriage.”
Hayden Hayes

“You really want to see it? Fine. Next month on the 10th. Top floor ballroom at the Plaza Grand. Since you're all so interested, consider yourselves invited.”
