Episode 2 · Mia, Dante Vescari, Ryan Vescari
Mia tries to forget her night with a stranger and pockets his ruby cufflink. Ryan texts her to attend dinner because his father has returned. At the Vescari house, Ryan orders her to stay quiet. Dante enters, and Mia recognizes him as the man from the hotel. During dinner, Dante touches her foot under the table, pours her wine, and whispers that she will call him Daddy again soon.
Mia wipes the foggy bathroom mirror and remembers the night before. She tells herself the drugs caused it. After picking up a ruby cufflink left behind in her room, she gets a text from Ryan demanding she join him for family dinner.
In the dining room, Mia fixes Ryan's collar before the meal starts. Ryan warns her not to speak around his father. When Dante Vescari walks into the room, Mia freezes as she realizes Ryan's father is the man from the hotel.
Ryan introduces Mia to Dante. Dante pretends he does not know her, but he presses his shoe against her foot under the table. He pours wine into her glass and whispers a private message into her ear while Ryan watches.
“It was the drug. It wasn't me. It never happened.”
“When Dad gets here, keep your mouth shut. The more you talk, the more you'll mess up.”
“Mia. Have we met before?”
“You called me Daddy that night. Soon, you'll say it again.”
Dante leans over Mia's shoulder to pour her wine and quietly reminds her of their hotel room encounter. He turns back to Ryan with a calm smile and claims they are getting along fine. Can Mia survive this family dinner without Ryan discovering what happened between her and his father?
