Farrah Blake remembers Sheryl Sinclair's ultimatum about staying away from Ethan in exchange for college money. Reminding herself that they are solely friends, Farrah heads out with Ethan Sinclair. They arrive at an event that turns out to be a pool party. The water triggers memories of Farrah's parents drowning when she was five. She stumbles back in panic. Ethan catches her in his arms, but his mother suddenly arrives and confronts Farrah.

Sheryl Sinclair steps onto the pool deck and notices Ethan holding Farrah. Her expression shifts as she walks up to them. She stops directly in front of Farrah and coldly asks what she is doing at the party.
