Armed thugs push into Kellen's forge, mock his work, and hit his apprentice. Eleanor tries to calm them down, but Kellen sounds a whistle. Heavily armored cavalry rides in and surrounds the attackers. Their commander kneels, calling Kellen the Duke. The thugs confess that Sir Rodrik Thorne hired them. Kellen orders their interrogation. Back inside their cabin, Eleanor asks if his gestures and feelings were genuine, and Kellen promises her they were.

Eleanor stares at Kellen in complete disbelief over his title. Terrified by the knights, the attackers plead for their lives. They admit Sir Rodrik Thorne paid them to destroy the shop. Kellen tells the soldiers to drag them off.

Eleanor and Kellen stand alone inside their quiet home. Eleanor questions whether his kindness, the shared meals, and his touch at the ball were genuine. Kellen speaks softly, telling her every single action and feeling was real.
