Rayne Mercer reveals his rusty mech frozen in a kneeling pose. The arena announcer and spectators laugh at the immobile machine. Karl Ashford mocks Rayne from the cockpit of the Golden Vanguard. Up in the VIP box, the senior commander threatens to throw Rayne out, while Valeria Thorne remains calm. Karl activates his thrusters and charges forward with a glowing energy blade. Rayne stays completely motionless as the sword swings toward his mech.

Karl ignites the glowing energy broadsword on the Golden Vanguard and engages the thrusters. The golden mech charges directly at Rayne's stationary machine. The commander yells at Rayne to move as the lethal strike begins to descend.
