Lyra spots a phone card lying in the snow near a dumpster. She runs to a distant telephone booth to make a call. Inside, she climbs onto a wooden crate and enters the phone number from the missing child poster. Vance answers from his vehicle. Lyra mentions his flyer about Lyra Sterling. When Vance offers to come rescue her from the cold, Lyra confesses that she believes she is his missing daughter.

00:00: A Phone Card in the Snow
Lyra walks through the cold street near a dumpster and notices a discarded phone card on the ground. She picks it up from the snow. She quickly runs toward a distant telephone booth down the road.
00:17: Dialing Inside the Phone Booth
Lyra enters the telephone booth and climbs up onto a wooden crate to reach the payphone. She slides the card into the slot. She carefully dials the number printed on the missing child flyer and rehearses her words.
00:56: Reaching Vance on the Phone
Vance picks up his phone while driving. Lyra speaks to him about the flyer. When Vance hears that an eight-year-old is stranded alone in the snow, he promises to drive over. Lyra then tells him the real truth.
