Who is who in The Sea God’s Unwanted Mermaid, and how they are connected.

Elena Wade
Low-ranking shallow sea mermaid
Elena survived royal banishment and a disfiguring curse through sheer stubbornness. She gave birth to Darian's son in exile and returned to the hostile Deep Sea Kingdom solely to cure Liam's unstable bloodline. Elena refuses to bow to Darian's ego or royal intimidation. Her priority is keeping her child safe from court schemers and an oblivious father.
Darian Valos
God of the Deep Sea
Darian rules the depths with immense water magic and deep pride. He cast Elena aside after believing a planted betrayal, yet he remains fixated on her memory. Rather than admitting his lingering feelings, he masks his jealousy behind cold authority. He waits by broken walls at midnight, desperate to control a woman he claims to despise.
Vanessa
Pureblooded deep-sea noble mermaid
Vanessa stops at nothing to secure the Queen's throne. She pushed Elena into the abyss and later assaulted her when Darian broke free. Vanessa despises shallow sea mermaids and views Elena as an obstacle to her royal ambitions. She uses physical violence, royal guards, and court standing to eliminate any rival near the Sea God.
Violet
Elder noble mermaid and Darian's grandmother
Violet operates as an influential power in the capital who refuses to let Darian dictate royal affairs. She announced a consort selection in his name and sheltered Elena and Liam without knowing the child's paternity. Violet actively works to convince the Ancient Priest to help Elena. At the same time, she plots to match Elena with her grandson.
Liam
Secret son of Darian and Elena
Liam carries the pure Sea God bloodline, born from a golden egg with golden eyes and scales. His magic is powerful enough to soothe Elena's curse mark, but his unstable power risks killing him without ancient intervention. He recognizes Darian's projection as his father, even as Elena tries to keep their connection buried.

Story so far

Power in the Deep Sea Kingdom belongs entirely to rank and divine blood. Darian Valos rules the depths as an arrogant sea god, but his throne rests on fragile trust. When Elena Wade, a low-ranking mermaid from the shallow sea, broke his chains in the abyss, she expected gratitude. Instead, court jealousy immediately took over. A rival framed her with a stolen Source Devouring Orb, and Darian chose suspicion over loyalty. He cast her out into exile.

That banishment set up a brutal power dynamic. Elena retreated to the shallow reefs to nurse a disfiguring Blood Coral Curse and raise their secret son, Liam. Darian returned to his palace, surrounded by nobles competing for his favor. Yet exile did not sever the tie between them. When Liam's awakening sea god bloodline threatens his life, Elena risks execution by entering the Royal Capital. She does not return for romance or court status. Her only goal is finding the Ancient Priest to save her child.

Darian remains oblivious to his son, but he cannot ignore Elena. The moment she steps into his territory, his magical bond flares. He pretends to despise her. At night, he waits by a cracked boundary wall because he wants her to appear. Vanessa and the high mermaids view Elena as vermin who threatens their claim to the throne. Meanwhile, Darian's own grandmother unknowingly shelters the runaway child and plots to match Elena with Darian himself.

Every interaction between Elena and Darian crackles with unresolved anger. She refuses to stroke his ego, while he uses raw water magic to keep her from walking away. Viewers who watch The Sea God’s Unwanted Mermaid online see two strong wills locking horns in a royal court built on deception. When you follow The Sea God’s Unwanted Mermaid full episodes, the central question is simple. Can Darian see past his pride before court schemers destroy the family he rejected?
