Eileen Leighton hangs onto the cliff edge with bleeding hands. A carved stone seal beneath her fingers glows blue before she climbs back up. She rejects an offered hand as the aristocrats watch in shock. Eileen notices the matching crest on the pendant Vera wears and announces the necklace belonged to her mother. Rowena cuts in to continue the betrothal blessing. Noblemen quickly usher the guests back inside.

Someone offers Eileen a hand, but she pulls away and refuses the touch. Lucien and the gathered aristocrats stare at her in disbelief. An older nobleman questions the glowing mark carved into the stone behind her.

Rowena shouts over Eileen to resume the betrothal blessing. A nobleman with a staff tells everyone to return to the palace balcony. A man with a mustache hurries the crowd inside, while Eileen stands firm and watches them.
