Evelyn grabs a flashlight and a knife to look for evidence of the giant snake. Chloe mocks her, and a bodyguard warns her of the danger, but Evelyn walks into the rainforest anyway. She tracks a giant trail in the mud. A snake drops toward her from the canopy. A flying knife pins it to a tree. The young woman who threw it descends, and Evelyn realizes it is Maya.
Evelyn stands near an SUV by the jungle entrance holding a flashlight and a knife. Chloe makes fun of her plan to find evidence. A bodyguard tells her not to go inside alone. Evelyn rejects their warnings and walks into the woods.
Evelyn walks deeper into the rainforest and follows a giant trail pressed into the mud. A snake suddenly drops toward her from the canopy. A knife flies through the air, pinning the creature to a tree trunk. A young woman climbs down.
The young woman drops to the ground and asks Evelyn why she came alone to get killed. She brings up Evelyn's obedient adopted daughter. Evelyn looks at her face through tears and asks if she is her lost biological daughter, Maya.
“You're going to kill a giant snake with that little knife?”
“Madam President, it's too dangerous for you to go into the jungle alone.”
“You came into the rainforest alone to get yourself killed? Why didn't that obedient adopted daughter of yours come with you?”
“Maya? My daughter... is it really you?”
Evelyn reaches out toward Maya with tears in her eyes, asking if the young survivor is truly her daughter. Maya stands quietly and watches Evelyn with a neutral expression on her face. Will Maya embrace her mother, or has living alone in the wilderness made her cold toward Evelyn and Chloe?
