Milo wipes his teary nose in the academy hallway, glad his mothers remain safe. He walks home through the evening rain with his cap pulled down. Inside their rented den, Mama Luna, Mama Ursula, and Mama Vex wear pink cooking aprons. They pile seeds onto his plate and argue over attending his school ceremony. Mama Vex takes a call about police watching a shipment. Milo speaks up.
Milo stands in the academy hallway and wipes his teary nose on his sleeve. He accepted humiliating terms to keep his adoptive mothers hidden. He breathes a sigh of relief knowing they are out of danger.
Evening rain falls across the city streets outside. Milo pulls his baseball cap down over his hamster ears as he trudges along. He heads back toward his rented den alone in the dark.
Milo walks inside to find Mama Luna, Mama Ursula, and Mama Vex wearing pink aprons. They fuss over him immediately. The mothers argue about who attends his school event and stack sunflower seeds high on his plate.
Mama Vex answers a phone call discussing police tracking their shipment. Milo pictures his mothers locked behind bars. He places his sunflower seed down on the table and announces that they need to have a serious talk.
“Eat up kiddo, good for the hamster brain.”
“It's just a crummy little paper certificate. Not worth the trip. Next time I win something big, you can all come, promise.”
“that shipment... the cops are sniffing around... hard to move this stuff.”
“Moms, we need to talk.”
Milo sets down his sunflower seed and tells his three mothers they need to talk. Mama Luna, Mama Ursula, and Mama Vex freeze in shock with food in their mouths. Milo fears their crimes will lead to prison. How will the apex predator mothers react to their tiny son confronting them about their illegal work?
