  1. 00:00: A Skeptic Rejects the Cue

Nugget retreats into his cave while the park staff preps a trap gun. Lily points out that the animal is backing away in fear. Dr. Eric ignores her observation, calling the animal's retreat a meaningless stress response.

Key lines from episode 3

“That's just an instinctive avoidance response under stress. It proves nothing.”

Dr. Eric · Said when Lily notes the tiger backing away into the dark cave.

“Every time I roared, you humans came running with sticks. Then more people showed up, I got even more scared, and I just roared harder.”

Nugget · Said while explaining to Lily why past human encounters frightened him so deeply.

“He got attacked by geese when he was little. He's just a big scaredy cat. Then you all come at him with sticks and nets, and that only scares him more. He's not crazy!”

Lily · Said to the shocked crowd while wrapping her arms around the calm tiger.

How episode 3 ends

Lily stands holding Nugget close inside the enclosure, loudly defending the tiger to the stunned crowd. Everyone now sees the animal is terrified rather than vicious. Will Mark step in to purchase Nugget, and how will the crowd react to an eight-year-old calming an apex predator with words alone?
