Who is who in I Married a Star Lord, and how they are connected.
Lyra Vex
Princess of the Vex Star System
Lyra hides her royal status to work as a urologist. She wants autonomy and refuses to attend the Draven betrothal gala arranged by her father, Orion. Driven by clinical confidence, she flash-marries Kael to ward off family pressure, unaware she married her intended match.
Kael Draven
Ruler of the Draven Star System
Kael disguises himself in miner's gear to escape royal obligations and his mother Nova's gala orders. He plays along with Lyra's misdiagnosis and fake marriage out of amusement and convenience, using quick lies and subordinates to keep his starship fleet hidden.
Boz
Kael's subordinate
Boz serves Kael and quickly poses as General Manager Boz to cover Kael's cover story of being an energy electrician. He is floored when Kael reveals an official marriage certificate with Lyra outside the registration building.
Smith
Intelligence Officer of Draven
Smith gathers intelligence for Kael while managing his own interstellar estate. He books a medical appointment with Dr. Lyra, unaware of her identity, and spreads unflattering gossip about the Vex heiress right before Lyra walks into his pool room.
Story so far
A princess playing doctor and a star ruler pretending to be broke walk into an exam room, and neither realizes the other is the exact arranged match they are trying to dodge. Lyra Vex runs a medical clinic under the guise of an ordinary urologist, collecting trophies like the Golden Wand of Glory while ignoring frantic calls from her father, Supreme Ruler Orion Vex. Across the hallway stands Kael Draven, dressed in worn work gear. He is dodging his own mother, Sovereign Nova Draven, and complaining about severe fatigue. Lyra mistakes his mining exhaustion for bedroom failure, and the comedy of errors turns into an impulsive contract marriage.
What makes this dynamic sharp is the battle for control. Lyra thinks she holds the upper hand. She offers Kael free treatment and a monthly allowance in exchange for a signed marriage certificate to wave in her family's face. She expects a quiet, docile patient she can fix up in twenty days. Instead, she gets an interstellar sovereign who enjoys playing along with the charade. Kael scrambles to cover up his wealth, turning arriving warships and greeting aides into frantic workplace excuses. When Lyra touches his abdominal muscles and talks about treatment plans, Kael retaliates by pinning her against the wall and confessing he was never broken at all.
Neither lead plays fair, and their mutual deception ratchets up the tension with every close encounter. Lyra defends her independence fiercely, threatening to throw Kael out the minute she suspects hidden motives. Kael tests her boundaries, keeping his true rank hidden while his intelligence network runs background checks on the very woman living in her apartment. With both of them caught between family duty and stubborn pride, every interaction tests who will crack first. “Not sick? Then why marry me? What are you after? Pack your stuff. Get out. Now.”
