Sarah Waverly tries to buy a ticket out of the state at the bus station, but the ticket clerk says her card is frozen. A security officer accuses her of theft on Dante Beaumont's orders, takes her cash, and shoves her outside. Locked in a wet alley with nowhere to go, Sarah calls Sethric Remington to accept his marriage proposal. A car drives up and shines its headlights on her.
Sarah tries to buy a ticket to Seattle at the bus station counter. The clerk tells her that her card is frozen. Sarah pulls out paper money instead and asks for a ticket to any location outside the state.
A security guard approaches Sarah and claims Dante Beaumont's legal team reported her for theft. He takes all her cash. When Sarah fights back, the guard pins her against the counter and announces a ban on her leaving the city.
The security guard shoves Sarah outside into a dark alleyway. He throws her suitcase onto the wet ground right behind her. The guard then shuts the station exit door and locks Sarah outside in the cold without her money.
Stranded and hurt on the wet ground, Sarah realizes Dante blocked every route. She takes out Sethric Remington's card and dials his phone number. Sarah tells Sethric she will accept his marriage deal, and he tells her not to move.
A car turns into the dark alley and aims its bright headlights at Sarah. Sarah shields her eyes and gets back on her feet. She walks forward toward the bright beams and asks if Mr. Remington has arrived.
“Sorry ma'am, your card is frozen.”
“You're suspected of stealing from Dante Beaumont. We're authorized to confiscate your cash and ban you from leaving the city.”
“Mister Sethrick, I'm Sarah. I have no choice, I'll accept your deal.”
“Stay where you are. I'll be there.”
Sarah stands alone in the wet alleyway as a motor vehicle suddenly drives in, illuminating her with glaring headlights. She rises to her feet and asks if Mr. Remington is the driver. Is Sethric Remington really the person inside the approaching car, or has Dante Beaumont sent someone else to stop Sarah from escaping his grasp?
