Episode 11 · Amelia Montgomery, Ethan Montgomery, Mr. Montgomery
Ethan Montgomery puts jewelry around Amelia Montgomery's neck as she sits in their dressing room. He urges her to bring her personal seal for the Harbor Tower contracts tomorrow morning, dangling a trip abroad. When his phone rings, he steps aside to promise someone a ride. Ethan claims the caller was Elara Voss, and Amelia pretends to accept his excuse.
Ethan Montgomery clasps a diamond necklace onto Amelia Montgomery at her dressing table. He tells her to bring her seal for tomorrow's Harbor Tower contracts and promises a trip to the Maldives. Amelia quietly asks if things can ever return to the past.
Ethan Montgomery's phone rings on the desk. He takes the device over to the window and whispers into the receiver. He tells the caller to stay home and promises to pick them up. Amelia Montgomery tracks his reflection in the mirror.
Ethan Montgomery hangs up and tells Amelia Montgomery that the call was just unimportant company business. Amelia Montgomery says nothing out loud. Inwardly, she reflects on being treated like a fool while wearing the necklace like a puppet inside a home of deceit.
Ethan Montgomery announces he must pick up company CFO Elara Voss first. He instructs Amelia Montgomery to ride in the driver's car instead. Amelia Montgomery tells him she believes him, picks up her evening clutch, and gets ready to head out.
“Have you ever thought that some things can never go back to the way they were?”
“Listen to me. I will definitely come pick you up. Stay home and wait for me.”
“She is the company CFO, Elara. I am doing all this for the company. You do not believe me?”
“Of course I believe you.”
Amelia Montgomery takes her clutch and heads out to ride with the driver, hiding her awareness of Ethan Montgomery's betrayal. Ethan Montgomery departs separately under the pretense of picking up Elara Voss for corporate reasons. Will Amelia expose Ethan's lies at dinner, or will Ethan succeed in manipulating her into signing the Harbor Tower documents tomorrow?
