Nora hangs up on Evan in her apartment after he fails to remember their train. She takes a taxi toward Penn Station. Her mother texts her a photo of family dinner. On her phone, Nora finds Tessa's post presenting Evan as her fiancé. A relative's comment mentions last year's holiday. Nora recalls waiting alone on her birthday while Evan claimed work. She finds old photos of Evan giving Tessa Nora's gifts.
In her apartment, Nora hangs up the phone with Evan. Evan recalls every single detail regarding Tessa, but he completely forgets the departure time for his train with Nora. Nora stands alone in silence.
Nora rides in a taxi toward Penn Station. Nora's mother sends a text with a dinner photo. Then Nora checks her phone and sees Tessa's new social media post declaring Evan Mercer as her fiancé.
Reading a comment about last Christmas, Nora remembers her past birthday. Nora waited by herself at home while Evan lied about a busy business trip. Evan instead went to celebrate New Year's Eve with Tessa's family.
Nora opens Carol Bishop's social profile inside the cab. A photo from last year features Evan wearing the coat Nora bought him. Evan hands Tessa the exact holiday present Nora personally prepared back then.
