Who is who in My Archenemy Became a Cat, and how they are connected.
Julian
Cursed young master
Julian begins as a wealthy heir framed by his family and transformed into a stray cat by Madame Delphine. Defenseless on the street, he finds shelter with the man he thought despised him. He is sharp, observant, and stunned to learn that their long-standing mutual rivalry was actually built on silent love.
Elias Vance
Underground fighter
Elias fights for cash in underground bouts and lives in an unpolished loft. Beneath his tough exterior sits an intense three-year devotion to Julian, whom he considers completely out of reach. He spends his winnings on pet care and treasures old memories of Julian locked away in a safe.
Madame Delphine
Hostile witch
Madame Delphine triggers Julian's downfall by placing the curse on him inside his mansion. After an argument, she transforms him into a Maine Coon cat and sends him out into the city streets to suffer as an animal.
Jax
Elias's associate
Jax accompanies Elias into the alley where the injured cat is cornered by aggressive dogs. Practical and unsentimental, Jax tells Elias to leave the animal behind, unaware that the stray is Elias's long-time rival.
Story so far
Most rivalries rely on distance. The two combatants stay across the street, throwing hostile glares and corporate threats until someone finally blinks. My Archenemy Became a Cat strips that safety away within minutes. Julian is a spoiled young master whose domestic life was already toxic, thanks to a scheming step-mother and step-brother. A witch named Madame Delphine curses him into a Maine Coon cat after a heated confrontation. Soon after, his human body gets beaten and hit by a car, while his feline self ends up cornered by vicious dogs in a dark alley.
The person who pulls him out of that alley is Elias Vance, an underground fighter Julian assumed despised him. Elias spends hard-earned fight winnings on pet food instead of drinks, carries the animal into his warehouse loft, and talks to it like an old friend. Julian is trapped in fur and forced to listen. This setup completely inverts their dynamic. Julian used to look down from high society, tossing cash from his Porsche. Elias scraped by on fighting purses and silent devotion.
Watching these two dance around each other exposes how badly they misunderstood their history. Elias keeps Julian's photos, diary entries, and personal jewelry locked away in a safe, believing his affection would always stay one-sided. Julian discovers that the cold front Elias displayed in public was entirely fake. Once moonlight strips the curse away and Elias mistakes flesh for a dream, their guarded relationship crumbles immediately into physical honesty.
